research and analyze cultural dynamics for ethnic groups in southern africa and horn of africa countries for policy makers
write academic-type articles addressing ethno-political issues in africa
coordinate findings with regional experts, ngos, and professors
provided socio-cultural advice and support to joint exercise planning in africa
provide socio-cultural briefings and presentations for units deploying to africa
required skills:collaborate with non-specialists, and communicate research in a clear, ability to lead groups, concise way to non-specialists.one year in-depth field research in africa and two additional years of either research or other relveant experience in africa or another developing region with similar social and political challenges. reading, speaking and listening capability at a minimum of dlpt score of 3 in french, portuguese, arabic or major african lingua franca such as swahili or hausa.security cleaarnce: eliigble ts/ssbi. baisc requierments: masetrs or phd in relevant acaedmic discipline (behavioral psychology, social psychology, sociology, cultural anthropology, social geography, history, economics, and political science).position will be in either africa or stuttgart germany. or other type of finished report based on primary field research (interviews and surveys), publications, proven record of writing through dissertation.formal graduate level training in social science research methods and analysis.
