job summary:the idm systems engineer will use their technical knowledge to drive sales while insuring partners satisfaction thruogh prpoer expecattion management.
duties and responsibilitiesthe idm systems engineer will be responsible for the following duties.
· proivde pre-sales technical support
· proivde technical product presentations and demonstrations
· maintain detailed knowledge of major competitors and baseline knowledge of all other competition
· lead efforts to design and deliver customized solutions to meet customers\' needs
· work directly with partners/end users in the sales and account management process
· manage and provide technical support for pre-sales product evaluations
· provide partners/ end users assistance with all related test tolos and appliactions
· inusre customer satisfaction through proper expectation setitng
· provide prolbem escaaltion in a tiemly manner when required
· provide feebdack on features, issues, trends, storage management, and roadmaps
experience
· technical degree or equivalent required
· 5 years of pre-sales support
· 5 years of in-depth storage experience including sans, and other product or market related concerns that affect product sales and acceptance
· work with dell technical support when required to provide post-sale support
· maintain/keep current all reports and paperwork
· complete management assigned mbo\'s within the designated time frame
· keep current on all equallogic / compellent product features, back-up/recovery
· good working knowledge of performance and storage test tools
· strong individual and group presentation skills
· very good verbal and written communications skills
· excellent customer management skills
· excellent time management skills
· self-starter - good internal motivation for self-directed time and activities
· fluent in english, nas, capabilities.the idm systems engineer must be a self-starter and always seek opportunities to advance sales and industry presence for dell storage in general and equallogic/compellent in particular.
