- a proven ability to develop sources and break news
- strong writing skills; the ability to explain complex issues not only clearly and succinctly, but also entertainingly
- strong numerical skills ; the ability to comb through an earnings statement and identify story ideas
- a proactive approach to the post, which involves thinking of original story ideas and pursuing stories independently
- the ability to coordinate efficiently with colleagues across the region and globally to drive stories forward
- experience reporting on cars or another corporate sector a plus
- german language skills a plus
