promedical personnel are seeking a gu medicine nurse . the canddiate will work at a senior level within a small team (3 other nurses) to provide sexual health services to patients at 3 different siets within the bfg footprint. good stanadrds practice in documentation and record keeping are expected.they will not be required to trvael alone. the practitoner must be competent/confident, to work with a significant degree of autonomy, to provide patient care being able to consult independently with patients seeking sexual health advice, screening and treatment as required. the candidate must hold current registration with the nursing and midwifery council as a registered general nurse (level1), hold a recognised sexual health qualification and/or have significant recent experience of practice within a gu medicine dept and be able to demonstrate competence as detailed below. the nurse would be required at all times to work within the nmc code and other stanadrds for practice. this will include provision of pharmacological treamtents in accodrance with the nmc standards for mediicnes manaegment and loacl standards/protcools.the candidate must be wililng to travel with collaegues to satellite clniic sites as necessary. it is expected that the candidate will have no current or pending professional investigations against them.liaising with medical centres/dept of occupational health as necessary, making appointments, providing results to patients, it would be desirable that the nurse has a nurse prescriber qualification or if not is experienced in the use of patient group directionsthe practitoner would also be required to contribute to the wider workload within the department, taking and making telephone calls, able to support administrative functions including; management of notes and recording/actioning results in accordance with local standards of practice, partner notification and support for health fairs as required.provide treatments and evaluate cure for patients, the nurse will be required to assess health needs, based on research evidence and best practice standards, order and interpret investigations as necessary, interpret results.
