For our Competence Center Global IT Infrastructure & Operations we are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager IT Infrastructure & Operations (m/f) Key Responsibilities: Selecting and leading the project team and being able to independently do project planning, tracking, reporting, change management and risk assessment and control by applying the correct PM methodologies and tooling. He/she ensures that the project is delivered within the boundaries of time, cost & quality according to the customer\'\'s expectations and requirements. To ensure this, problems and issues that occur during the project need to be identified and solved. · The PM is also responsible for communicating schedules, status reports, changes & issues to all parties involved, including management and customers. The PM is responsible to transfer knowledge from previous projects and has to ensure a continuous improvement regarding project management. Senior PM: Managing interrelated teams from different organizations. Senior PM: He/she is fully responsible for delivering the project within the boundaries of time, cost & quality and for managing the customers\'\' expectations and requirements. This includes leading negotiations and fully understanding the impact of the project results the organization. The Senior PM is well aware of political realities and understands the impact of escalation on resolution of issues. To prevent this, problems and issues that occur during the project need to be identified and solved beforehand. The Senior PM is also responsible for full project communication across the organization, including presentation of reports and solutions to higher management and stakeholders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: PROJECT COMPETENCIES Project Management Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope. Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to customer. Effectively applies PMI methodology and enforces project standards. Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures. Minimizes exposure and risk on project. Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Ensures that as part of highly complex projects all stakeholders are equally reflected Creates efficient full back plans Project Accounting Tracks and reports team hours on a weekly basis. Manages project budget. Determines appropriate benefits recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project. Analyzes project profitability, costs, benefits and utilization. Communication Facilitates team and customer meetings effectively. Holds regular status meetings with project team. Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news. Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors. Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Technical Understanding Possesses general understanding in the areas of infrastructure services Possesses a thorough understanding of infrastructure capabilities. Requisite Skills/Education: Fluency in English PMI Certified or in preparation Proficiency in MS Project Should have at least 6 years of project management / environment experience Should have at least 6-8 years of technical and/or industry and/or business experience Should have a basic technical understanding of the infrastructure services provided. Provides a minimum of 20 hours of giveback service per year Should have management endorsement (required signatures and support) Environment: Knowledge of the PMI Process Groups; Initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. Working knowledge of current Project Management methodologies. Understands department/function resources, priorities, and policies and applies this understanding to project activities. Demonstrates the required proficiency levels for skills defined at this position in the Skills Achievement Plan for Project Manager. Working knowledge in business matters, finance, planning, forecasting and personnel in order to manage team staff and business issues. Senior PM: Understands the relationship of their project to the business unit\'\'s portfolio. Communications/negotiation: Engaged as a professional who advises others and works with team members to articulate, compare, and implement solutions and alternative approaches based upon project management principles. Team members might include customer, supplier and staff. Negotiates effectively with team members to define the team\'\'s goals, work content and schedules. Clearly communicates team results to immediate management / project manager. Establishes and maintains clear mechanisms to communicate project status and change with the project team and other staff. Must be able to effectively communicate resource needs and project issues with management / project management. Senior PM: Engaged as a professional who guides others and drives negotiation and analysis and/or acceptance of changes within the project. Understands competition and tactics needed to meet competitive challenges and uses this information to decide when changes to the project are required. Works with team members to articulate, compare, and implement solutions and alternative approaches based upon project management principles. Must be able to effectively communicate resource needs and project issues with business unit management to negotiate appropriate project resources. Plans and conducts negotiations which result in significant agreements and commitments between the business, customer/supplier and other organizations. Problem solving: Recognizes and articulates complex problems related to the project / segment of the project or function. Applies creativity and judgment in development of multiple solutions related to project objectives utilizing recognized project management techniques. As appropriate, challenges the validity of given procedures and processes with a view toward enhancement or improvement. Analyzes problems and creates solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components. Senior PM: Anticipates potential project related problems. Utilizes refined techniques for identifying, eliminating or mitigating solution, project, and business risk. Understands customer, industry and business trends. Applies this understanding to meet project objectives. As appropriate, challenges the validity of given procedures and processes with a view toward enhancement or improvement. Analyzes information and situations and implements actions, independently and/or through the management team, to ensure project objectives are met. Analyzes new and complex project related problems and creates innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components. Contribution/leadership: Defines and decides objectives related to the project or segment of a large project from a cost, schedule, technical and quality perspective. Provides guidance in this area to others. Influences people outside their immediate project. This influence is expressed through working with customers / suppliers / staff. Understands department / project mission within context of business unit mission and applies this understanding in project activities. Displays proper use of PM tools to team members throughout the project life cycle. Provides project management business guidance to team members throughout the project life cycle. Has the ability to manage and motivate team members. Senior PM: Recognized for their expertise in Project Management and a leader by other professionals. Provides leadership to project stakeholders and team. Fosters and engages in teamwork at professional levels in business/customer/supplier organizations. Provides evaluation input of team member performance against specific job responsibilities to the team members manager. Provides giveback to the profession and the business. Exercises responsibility for acquisition of suppliers in support of the project. Ensures success of the subcontracting process. Works closely with appropriate procurement organizations that may formalize contractual relationships, negotiate contracts and secure adherence to related policies and procedures. Impact on business scope: Accountable for meeting customer\'\'s requirements and obtain the results of the project segment, unit or deliverable assigned. Responsible for project planning. Identifies, estimates and presents cost, schedule and business and technical risk for the project committing multiple resources. Interfaces directly with corresponding levels of customer\'\'s staff. Performs activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible for their financial baseline of the project, and accountable for project results as committed to the stakeholders Senior PM: Interfaces directly with management of the customer\'\'s staff.
