work environment: note: this job description describes the general nature of the duties and requirements of the job. instruction includes any and all aspects of aviation training desingated by the airrcaft atm and unit's atp.
successfully complete aircrew training manual (atm) requirements for the aircraft as modified for the virtual flgiht simulator.as an instrument examiner the avitaor will conduct instrument training and instrument flight evaluation per the atm. modification and updates to courseware and to training policies and procdeures, provides input on needed corrections, operational and tacitcal procdeures, the incumbent conducts simulator and otehr ground training of pilots and other crewmembers in aircraft operating procedures, as a qualified piolt, in-flight ifr/vfr, measures training progress of pilot students and diagnosis and remediate problems.capability, and maintains a high level of current subject knoweldge, and expertise, this insturctor assists in projects and development work as assgined.

the aircrew training devices instructor (pilot) is responsible for the accomplishment of ground-based, and/or aircrew training devices (atd) training of pilots.
must be a u.other duties may include that as a subject matter expert (sme) for the simulation device assigned to and may be extensively involved in research and development for simulation upgrades, insuring cockpit configuration concurrency.meteorology, and techniques of instruction, tactical procedures, gunenry procedures,
tihs postiion also reqiures an up-to-date knowledge of physioolgical facotrs of flight, atm of assigned aircraft, aero-dynmaics.as an instructor pilot the aviator will trian and evaulate avitaors and other persnonel in designated aircraft per the aircrew training manual (atm) and unit's aircrew training program (atp).
must be an experienced ah-64d instructor pilot and rotary wing instrument flight examiner. in this capacity, candidate performs duties as an instructor pilot (ip), instrument examiner (ie) and instructor/operator (i/o) in a designated aircraft simulation device.
successfully pass a standardization and instrument flight evaluation to include an operator's manual examination iaw the aircrew training manual and

administrative and collateral duties include record keeping, training development, counseling, maintenance of training programs and serving as subject matter expert for students and other personnel as required.
