1880 Seth Thomas Ebony Adamantine Clock This is an original, factory dated September 7, 1880 Seth Thomas mantle clock. Its completely untouched Adamantine ebony case with brown mosaic faux marble top,ceiling and base and is still in stunning condition after 124 years! It is graced by pre-1900 Seth Thomas 5" bronze dial, ringed lions, and ornamental 3-toed feet. Well retained inlaid patterns in front and surrounding the genuine Seth Thomas 5" dial marked with the "ST" logo, "Made in the United States of America" and adjustment arrows. This beautiful Seth Thomas, measuring 15 1/2"x10 3/4"x6 1/2", is equipped with the Seth Thomas "ST" round panel door. Its Label No.102 is 100% intact. Note, too, dates of former owner on the back panel for an unique local history and authenticity.

Early Seth Thomas head-and-shoulder solid brass movement is stamped "3-5/8" "Seth Thomas" "Thomaston, Conn" and "ST" logo inside circled diamond. Strikes the hour and half hour on cathedral bell. This clock has not been professionally cleaned in ultrasonic cavitation, nor oiled and adjusted to fine running order. Genuine Seth Thomas pendulum and double-ended key included.

Clock fanciers and Seth Thomas collectors, please note that General Time, which took over the Seth Thomas Company in 1931, itself was closed in 2001 thus marking historic end of the Seth Thomas line.
